An order of stations is defined in the file plan_plm.cfg. The order in this file should be same like a physical order of stations on the assembly line. If the cockpit is scanned on a station, previous stations are checked, if this cockpit was completed there. Any missing operation is reported by a “yellow” message on the screen. If there is a station, which is not directly on the assembly line, it should be placed (in plan_plm.cfg) between the stations where the preassembled unit is coming to the main assembly line. To avoid some error messages produced because of such stations, the Line parameter can specify the branch of a production line. Basically the main line has this parameter 0, the first preassembly line has it 1 and so on.

There are two rules regarding the Line parameter and “yellow” messages: - Each station checks the stations which are above it in the plan_plm.cfg file. - The station doesn’t check stations, which have lower value of the Line parameter.

In special cases, when two stations are very close together and an operator of the second station normally starts his job before the cockpit is finished on the first station, the Line parameter can be used to avoid the “yellow” messages as well. Simply the second station can have the Line parameter higher than the first one.
