Kernel Server - Installation step by step

Basic Steps

  • OS Installation
  • Disable SELinux
  • Disable Firewall
  • Set Hostname
  • Register on server sasmbosql

Set as FTP Server for Kick start clients installation

  • Install FTP Server 
# yum install vsftpd
  • Copy Fedora 14rpms to /var/ftp/fedora/14
  • Copy Fedora 15 Linux kernel rpms to /var/ftp/fedora/15 
# ll /var/ftp/fedora/15
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  6775152  3. led  2011 kernel-devel-2.6.36-5.fc15.i686.rpm                                   
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root   743876  3. led  2011 kernel-headers-2.6.36-5.fc15.i686.rpm
